Will Kinsey

How I work with AI Illustrative simulation. Hover or tap a step.

I start with conversation: an objective, then possibilities, narrowing audience, scope, and deliverable until the problem is clear.

Will Kinsey is a senior healthcare technology leader focused on strategic initiatives, applied AI, and organizational change, with roughly 20 years in the medical equipment industry. He brings cross-functional teams together to turn complex business priorities into practical execution, combining executive decision support, capital planning, analytics, and applied AI.

Where I focus

Strategic initiatives and delivery

Owning ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from priority to execution: scoping the decision, aligning stakeholders, sequencing the rollout, and carrying teams through enterprise implementations and operating-model change.

  • Five-region procure-to-pay implementation, on time and on budget
  • +25% recurring revenue from integrating Customer Success and Contract Adoption

Data and analytics

Turning messy operational data into decisions and dollars: finding the pattern, building the model, and putting it in front of the people who act on it.

PythonSQLiteJSONPower BIExcel

  • Designed an algorithmic budget review that found billing errors, producing $1.6M in corrections the following year
  • Built a capital-planning HTML prototype used with customers, then translated it into Power BI for easier hosting
  • Built Python pipelines on SQLite databases and JSON data for recall matching and equipment lifecycle research

Applied AI operations

Using AI agents and automation as everyday working tools, not demos: designing workflows with defined task boundaries, verification steps, and human approval where judgment matters.

  • A recall pipeline connecting FDA notices to inventory, work orders, and validation
  • A school book catalog built from teachers’ phone photos

How I work with AI

I lead the work; AI agents handle much of the research, production, and checking. I shape the problem, inspect what comes back, and redirect it until it is genuinely useful. What that looks like in practice:

  • Shaping before delegating. I work through the objective, audience, scope, and deliverable in conversation first, then have a lead agent turn that into instructions for implementation agents.
  • Hands-on review. I open the actual workbooks, decks, documents, and browser results, judge usefulness as well as correctness, and send work back with specific corrections when it misses the need.
  • Multi-agent delegation. When the work calls for it, a lead agent plans and reviews while worker agents take bounded tasks at high reasoning effort. I documented the setup in a public walkthrough and a setup kit others can point their own agent at.
  • Agentic coding and build tools. I work daily in OpenAI Codex and Claude Code, alongside ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, choosing the tool by task and cost.
  • Controlled workflows for operational work. At Renovo I have designed AI-assisted workflows that combine API and web intake, deterministic matching, structured document review, and explicit human approval gates. AI prepares and checks the work; people make the decisions.
  • Reusable skills and instructions. What works becomes a skill or template, so results are repeatable instead of one-off. I publish many of them. See Human-AI Alignment Skills and AI for Knowledge Workers Resources.
  • Teaching. I share practical methods on AI for Knowledge Workers, my YouTube channel, with an emphasis on review steps and human judgment.

Experience

Roughly 20 years in the medical equipment industry. The common thread is execution: bringing operations, sales, product, IT, and customer teams together around a priority and seeing it through to adoption.
